Jahan Nostra Has No Time for the Ungrateful

I’m a sucker for soul samples. Just about anyone who’s ever been privy to my music knows this. That said, I’m a bigger sucker for soul samples with reflective lyricism over the beat. Jahan Nostra’s “Ungrateful” does both of these things and does them well.

Over a soulful flip, Nostra methodically raps about those who’ve been fairweather supporters and haven’t been the best of allies. His flow reminds me a bit of Cam’ron, possibly because of his cadence. Nostra said he evoked the conscious rap of the 1990s. I’d agree but would also say he evoked the Dipset era of hip-hop. Bombastic samples and hard-hitting lyrics? Sign me up for more, now, especially when the rapper in question sounds like a mix of Nas and Killa Cam.

Don’t just take my words for it, though. Check out “Ungrateful” below and remember to support dope music in all its forms.
