Canada meets NYC on this new track from rapper Sick Steen and vocalist Xander Goodheart. “Hard Days” is a bit more commercial than I usually focus on for the site. However, Steen’s lyricism and subject matter (self-improvement and betterment through reflection and evolution) is what grabbed me and said “Speed, you’ve got to post about this one.” Lyrically, the brother is sound and his flow works well on this one, as the beat is a bit muted in comparison to some other songs of the same variety. Goodheart’s vocals cut through the chorus to remind us that, even when things get tough, we have to keep pushing. This is exactly the sort of song I needed to hear today because of some outside forces. Check it out below and remember to support dope music in all its forms.
