On Davie Jone$, Skuzii Introduces Himself to SOTBMusic

I’m here for DMV artists, from Adelphi to Richmond and everywhere in between (including, of course, Baltimore). That said, Richmond rapper Skuzii hit my line with one of his latest songs and I was like “aight, let me peep this.” I wasn’t that familiar with Skuzii before “Davie Jone$,” but I’m glad I heard it.

The song reminds me of something you’d hear Curren$y put out sonically. Flow-wise, Skuzii is calm and collected while still snapping off fiery lyricism. His punchlines are on point and he has the ability to bar someone up while still keeping it chill. Again, it gives me strong Spitta vibes, which is great for me since I love me some Spitta songs.

All in all, it’s a dope track and it made me check out the album from which it came from, Ask About the Octopus. Octopus is a 21-song, 41-minute album full of Virginia vibes and flows, formulated around the concept of a radio show. If you like “Davie,” I’m sure there’s something else for you on the album proper. Check out the song below and remember to support dope music in all its forms.
