Danny Junior Presents Loyal Fool

Over a Santana-esque instrumentation, New York artist Danny Junior sings smoothly and suavely about being a sucker for his woman. The lyricism and vocals on this one remind me of a mix between The Weeknd and a teeny tiny bit like MJ. It could be because The Weeknd molded his early sound after MJ, but I see a talent tree here, from MJ all the way down to Danny Junior. And no, even though I’m writing this on a Friday night to go live on a Monday, I’m not drunk. “I’ll do all the things you want me to but only for my vanity/because you’re so fucking cool, and I’m your loyal fool,” he sings at the end of the second verse and I felt that. Love (and lust) can make you do some wild-ass things. Trust me on this one if you’ve never been in love. But, I’m in love with the production on this one, as it positions itself well between a striptease-friendly song and a smooth jam, almost an inside joke between lovers.

Don’t just take my word for it. Check out “Loyal Fool” below and remember to support dope music in all its forms.
