Lloyd OP Presents Gimme

Lloyd OP told me that his latest release, “Gimme,” was a part of an EP that would round out the lyrics and the mindset shown on “Gimme.” That’s great, and the mixtape is pretty solid as well. However, “Gimme” stands well on its own as a songthat finds the rhymesayer wanting his just due while also striving to be better than he once was.

Sonically and lyrically, this one reminds me of an Isaiah Rashad or a Kendrick Lamar, in that the song is lyrically dense with a bevy of double entendres over a smooth instrumental. The track also finds Lloyd trying to combat some of his demons in some ways while also improving upon his standing in the world, a standing that finds people near him questioning if he’s ever going to get things to go his way. Check out “Gimme” below and remember to support dope music in all its forms.
