I like this one, because it’s a bit abstract in its approach to hip-hop. It’s funky and soulful, but still manages to fall a bit into the electronica category of things. I think that’s Save Mars’ intention, as “Sonderia” is about owning happiness and living your best life (and doing it “like no one else”). There’s a Miguel-meets-Anderson.Paak-meets-Ehiorobo feel to it, the way Mars blends genres to make a cohesive plea to the world to find their own happiness. I’m here for this type of music, the type that pushes boundaries while still keeping its foot planted.
