Above, we’ve got the latest from R&B singer Corey El. “Fly Away” features the singer over a bit of a spacey instrumental, one that highlights the fact he wants to spread his wings and find his own bit of peace. I’m a huge fan of the bridge, as it breaks the sound down to a somewhat acoustic level. Doing so allows Corey to layer his vocals while hammering the point home that he’s got to become better than what he is right now.
The way that this one takes you offguard a bit because it starts with a somewhat chilling vocal singing about how much they want to take flight. Once the song proper begins, any fears you may have had about this one going off the rails dissipate because Corey lets us know he wants more than a provincial life, while still wanting more than just the glitz and glamour. The beauty of this one is that El knows his vocals, when layered, add another element to the song, kind of like a one-man choir. Check out the song above and remember to support dope music in all its forms.
