I think the main thing you can say about “Back Home” is that it’s lyrical AF. Both artists discuss their hometowns and regions, while also walking that fine line between, as the press release mentioned, “nostalgia and bravado.” I love this one because it’s lyrically sound and still manages to be a headnodder. Iannucci’s verse deals with those who’ve departed his hometown. These people left both by good choices and poor decisions. From leaving because they wanted to view the rest of the world to leaving because they died by suicide, Iannucci pulls no punches. Check it out below and support dope music in all its forms.
