Any song that starts off with someone screaming for you to “wake TF up” grabs your attention. After that, it’s up to the artist to keep your attention. Roddod’s “Wake Up” keeps your attention with lyricism for days over a Cole-esque beat.

The song itself is more about trying to keep up while life when it wants you to rest. He also brings up a valid point: you can’t advance and get good at life if you’re sleeping it away. Be that literal sleep or figuratively staying sleep to advancement opportunities, sleep is the cousin of death for a reason. While I enjoy a good night’s sleep or a nap like most people, I also know that nothing gets accomplished when you’re just in bed (except resting up and revitalizing oneself).
