Duo St Oshun makes what they call “move your ass music” that combines Doja Cat, The Weeknd and Dua Lipa. Their latest, “In Your Eyes,” is a pop-R&B song that has a darker undercurrent. However, it’s one that’s still bested by the brightness in the song and its message. This one came to be after one-half of the duo happened across a photo of one of his cousins and started to think of the pain she’d been through over the years. However, it’s not all doom and gloom. Instead, the group lets the family member know that they’re still in her corner. I love the positivity on this one, even with the darker elements. That’s because, at times, songs about dealing with traumas can just delve into the darkness. This one isn’t like that, which is partly why I love it.
