Sojourn and Newselph Present the Reflective “Mirror Monologues”

Over a jazzy instrumental by Newselph, veteran rhymer Sojourn remixes his 2020 song “Mirror Monologues” and breathes new life into it. The song itself features Sojourn discussing his own life and views while also reflecting on the things that he wants to change, the things he’s grown to accept and the things in life he needs more of. The chorus repeats that life isn’t black or white but more iridescent than anything. That resonates with me. That’s because, sometimes, we need a little more light and more shine than just the traditional or the accepted. The track–and its refreshed beat–are beautiful and are definitely what I mean when I say “get to know the person, not the persona.”
