BDX The Don Balances a Romance and a Career on “Been So Long”

A quick track that wastes no time crafting its sound, BDX The Don’s “Been So Long” features the DMV-born, Austin-residing artist dabbling with melodic rap over a trippy beat. The song itself is about something most of us artist types can relate to. That is, it deals with the ups and downs of being an artist while also dealing with the ups and downs of a relationship. “Long” speaks more about how they may not connect as much as one would like and how you can’t really choose between the two–even though you’re living a “double life” in being a partner and a creative. I like the juxtaposition BDX presents here and how he doesn’t try to remedy it, instead opting to try and still have both. This is something every creative goes through. How one deals with it will make or break them. Check out the track above and remember to support dope music in all its forms.
