Belaganas Mix Beastie Boys and Kendrick Lamar on “Jaywalkin”

The title of this post pretty much conveys how I feel about “Jaywalkin.” I could just put the tagline and walk away. However, you all come to SOTB (usually) to hear my thoughts on tracks I feature. Now, “Jaywalkin” is fun and unique. That’s because it’s a trippy, funky track from the Southwestern group that blends “Sabotage”-era Beastie Boys energies with Kendrick Lamar wordplay and videography. The video finds the group on the run from a group of aliens that seem hellbent on disturbing the peace. I like that this one transcends several genres and doesn’t really get stuck on one sound. That’s because the beat booms, thumps and knocks all while treating hip-hop like the relative to punk that it is. If you’re looking for some solid alt-rap with pop punk leanings, check this one out below and support dope music in all its forms.
