George Kalin Tells His Story with “Ring”

Okay, I’d be lying if I said that George Kalin hasn’t become one of my favorite artists I’ve peeped in the last couple weeks. He’s nerdy AF, but also lyrical AF, kind of like a mix between Gambino and Chance the Rapper (circa Acid Rap or when he’s rapping rapping these days). His latest, “Ring,” like “Benchwarmer,” appears on his Late Bloomer EP. The visuals for “Ring” aren’t as involved as “Benchwarmer,” but they’re just as hard-hitting. The video finds Kalin speaking with a therapist and facing his darker self, all while figuring out who he is as a person and as an artist. It’s a simple but potent visual (and song). It’s another highlight from Late Bloomer, so if you liked “Benchwarmer” and “Ring,” check out the project proper. It’s a solid debut, in my humble opinion. Check out the visuals for “Ring” below and support dope music in all its forms.
