BANG Pays Homage to His Mother on “Without You”

I’m a sucker for dope music about a departed family member. Heck, most of my 2015-2020 music was steeped in the loss of Mama Young (for better or worse). That said, I know what it takes to make a solid track about your mother passing away.

On “Without You,” artist BANG pays homage to his mother and speaks honestly about the process he’s going through at the moment. It’s kind of in the vein of Pac’s “Dear Mama,” but still manages to be its own thing. On a beat that sounds like classic-era Ye, down to the R&B/gospel feel, BANG bears his soul and delivers a powerful and emotional song. Don’t forget to give your parents their flowers (especially if you’ve got a great relationship with them); life isn’t promised for anyone. Check out the track below and support dope music in all its forms.
