Above, we’ve got the latest single from SOTB OG Schama Noel. The jazzy “Was Up What It Do” features the artist paying homage to the Golden Era and the early 2000s, showcasing why Noel’s been on my radar for most of the last decade. He does this while still giving us a song that sounds fresh and new. It’s one of those tracks that features biting lyricism while also presenting another way to achieve goodness in the world. Instead of stealing and false claiming things, Noel asks his listeners to look inside themselves and find that bit of integrity and ingenuity and use it to prosper. I’m here for that sort of message and track.
This one appears on Noel’s Two Can Play That Game album, which dropped last Friday. If you’re looking for some dope vibes and lyrical rap, you’d be hard-pressed to find something more cohesive than this one. Check it out here via Spotify and support dope music in all its forms.
