A smooth-yet-sweet neo-soul offering, “Hotcakes” is equally cute and sexy. It’s both grown and a bit fun. It doesn’t lose its creators’ identities by them collaborating. In fact, Scalco (who I looked up after receiving the submission; you know I hate to be unprepared) feels right at home with the grooves Sage. puts down on this track. Sonically, it reminds me a bit of a Timbaland-era JT song.

It makes you want to munch on some flapjacks–and maybe some things I can’t really mention here. This is a PG-13-ish site, after all. Nevertheless, before I lose some of the more conservative SOTB readers, check this one out below and support dope music in all its forms.
