An alt-R&B offering that brings to mind serpentwithfeet and Erykah Badu, “Tidings of Comfort and Joy” is, well, a alt-neo-soul offering that turns “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen” on its head. That’s to say it’s a bop and not a slow, dramatically-delivered song. I love the intimate space Luna carves out on this one, as it puts listeners in the mood for Christmas and the Holiday Season–but also makes them think about the realities of the season.
