Philly funk/soul/hip-hop group Snacktime has been on my radar since they dropped “Gotta Get Funky (While You’re Takin’ a S***)” in August of this year. I love that they don’t take themselves too seriously, while taking the music very seriously. The end result, even if I don’t post about every song they drop, is a smorgasbord of good vibes, jam band elements and funk/hip-hop blends that’ll make you tap your feet and move your body.
Their latest, “SNACKMFTIME,” features the group letting us know, well, who they are and that it’s their MF’ing time to shine. I’m here for the energy on this track, as well as its funk-soul nature. The call and response elements are very strong and the instrumentation is a thing of beauty. If you’re feeling the songs I’ve featured on SOTB already, I recommend listening to their Sounds From the Street: Live album, which dropped in July. Check out the track (and video) below and support dope music in all its forms.
