29192 is a duo made up of two friends, Migs and Mac Marley. The interesting thing about the duo is that they are one year and one day apart from each other, being born in February 1991 and February 1992. Sonically, they remind me of earlier DAR stuff that I’d do with True and Apollo in that you get that “we’ve known each other for years” vibe that you only get with people who’ve been friends with for a minute. The way they bounce off each other is top-tier and their rhymes are as well, reminding me a bit of Curren$y. It’s a great track, one that you’ll bump in the trunk or just smoke to for a bit.
Here’s the kicker about this song, SOTB Faithful. I wrote a whole comprehensive review on “it “Baller Shit” a few weeks ago–but it got deleted. See, folks, that is why you don’t type 500 word articles on your app on the way to work. That is, unless you’re like True who can crank out 1000-word articles on a busted Samsung. Seriously, dude’s work ethic is impeccable.
It was a similar work ethic that made me take notice of 29192 and what they put down here. Overall, it’s not full-on braggy rap, but it’s fun, lyrical and just a good song. It’s one of those joints that’ll leave you bobbing your head and smiling at the camaraderie. Hell, it makes me want to get some more tracks with True and Apollo (::cough::Son of the Beast Two has some::cough::). Spoiler alerts and DAR plugs aside, check out the track below and support dope music in all its forms. Be sure to also remember that the power of friendship–while corny to say–really does lead to amazing music.
