So, you’re probably wondering why I, on a whim, decided to drop the price of Death of the King today on Bandcamp. If you’re not, I’m sure you have either no interest in me as an artist/person, or you just haven’t heard. Well, it’s simple. I’m a firm believer of music being accessible to everyone.
I’ve talked to people, and they have told me that $9.00 is still more than they can swing for an album. When I first started recording again, I had a mindset of “hey, if nine bucks is too expensive for you, you’ve got your priorities messed up.” And while that may still be somewhat true for some, it’s a reality for others. $9 may be too much to swing for someone who’s struggling day to day. And, well, I want to reach everyone I can with my journey and aid people in tough spots. So, why not lower the price? I also understand some of the confusion and the like behind Bandcamp, so I’m not expecting a huge uptick or anything. I just want to give people another option, as we, as people, tend to not have as many options these days.
Thanks everyone for the support and the love.
