Baltimore’s Don Neil returns to SOTBMusic with a very inspirational track. The aptly-titled “Save The Day” is kind of what you’d get if you had J. Cole write “Dear Mama.” Speaking on gun violence, parental issues with his father, and the love he’s gotten and reciprocates to his mother, Neil gives us a great look into his mind and gives us a distinct reason why he’s the way he is as an artist and as a young man.
It’s quite the touching track and it hits on all levels. From the lush strings accompanying the slightly boombap drums to the easily relatable story presented, this is one you need in your life on this cool October day. I mean, if your mom’s been great in your life, you’re going to want to protect her from the craziness of the world and show your appreciation. This track hits me that much closer, considering everything that’s going on with me with regards to Mama Young’s Son. So, check it out below and remember to support dope music in all its forms.
