I got this one in my email from indie artist Jpaulished (which I assume is pronounced like “Jay Polished” so correct me if I’m wrong) after he read the piece that Joe from The Artist Guides did regarding submissions (Reading is fundamental). “Top Down” is a pretty chill track about riding on the girl who rejected you and showing that, while she still plays a part in your life, you’re moving on and doing better now (and are wishing her the best in her endeavors as well). The beat helps move this from just another “I’m doing better without you, girl” type of track. Producer Groupie Luv’s choice of guitar layered over an emotive synth helps give more emotional weight to the song and J’s lyrics. Check it out below and remember to support dope music in all its forms.
