Garrison Elijaah’s evolution as an artist is like what you’d get if you mixed up IDK, parts of Chance and J. Cole: abrasive youthfulness with sageful thought processes over uplifting instrumentals–even when he gets down and dirty in the lyrical trenches. Today’s cut, “Worthwhile,” follows this tradition in that it’s catchy and showcases a youthfulness to it, but it speaks on seeking out a higher calling than just the random ebbs and flows of life. Simply put, the track is dope and deserves a listen, if only for the boombap production from New York-based producer J. Ford.
The former BlaccOut Garrison still has a way with his bars that keeps you nodding while not letting you escape the truthfulness he spits. However, it’s being constantly refined to the point that his precision is just as fire as his bars are. Check out “Worthwhile” below and remember to support dope music in all its forms.
