So, we all know two things about Kanye West. One, he’s a talented producer. Two, he’s dealing with some stuff that only he really knows what’s going on. But, when he taps into that darkness and brings light from it, we’ll get stuff like his production on Daytona or his work on Nas’ latest album.
In a sentence, Nasir is dope.
I mean, it’s Nas. The brother hardly makes any weak music (“meh” music is another story, but “weak” music? Nah). It feels like some sort of rebirth, possibly signaled by Nas’ new collaborative deal. The only thing I hate about the album, like all the Kanye-led releases this month, is that it’s so damn short. It’s like just as Nas gets into his zone completely and we’re given “God MC” bars about life, the project is over and we’re left with mouths agape saying “dammit ‘Ye!” As a fan of Nas’ bars, I’m like “bruh, this is dope,” except the weird anti-vaccine vibes on “Everything.”
So, check it out below and support dope music in all its forms.
