SOTBMusic: The Audible Doctor Gives Us the First of His Twelve 2020 Projects

The Audible Doctor’s first track from rx0.001 takes Aaliyah’s “Are You That Somebody” and turns it on its head. Tweaking the pitch to match the new, somewhat haunting production, the end result is something that made me want to listen to the rest of the tape. The seven-track EP touches a lot of places, adding an extra element to the classic 90s acapellas The Audible Doctor chose to place next to his beats.

For example, there’s an added sense of isolation and desolation added to his take on “The Boy is Mine,” entitled “Confused.” The muted and chopped vocal sample envelops Brandy and Monica late-90s Pop&B vocals, giving them further “oomph.” However, the original song’s take on “The Girl is Mine” remains clear as day. Check out the project, the first of AD’s twelve 2020 albums, above and remember to support dope music in all its forms.
