I’ll be honest. I didn’t know who Ehiorobo was until I saw he submitted something to me. However, he said that two similar artists to him were JPEGMAFIA and Odd Future. That’s usually a pretty good way to get me interested in your music if I don’t know you all that well.
While he isn’t asking his friends to call him if they get lost, I definitely see the comparisons on his latest track “Bloodsports.” It’s a frantic, abrasive mix between punk-rap and no-fi alternative R&B (never thought I’d find another no-fi connoisseur just running around the internet like this, but here we are). If you’re not afraid to have your speakers blown TF out by the bass and the, as he calls it, “zany brand of experimental hip-hop and R&B,” I recommend checking this one out because it is quite funky but not in a bad way. It’s out there, but still maintains enough of a celestial body to stay grounded a bit. Overall, it’s a great track–one that’s sure to make you wonder where he’s going to go next.
Check out “Bloodsports” below and remember to support dope music in all its forms.
