Detroit rapper MoCity Jones hit my line recently with his latest track, “Already on the Way.” From the jump, I knew that I’d like this one. That’s because it has a mix sonically that sounds somewhere in between Bubba Sparxxx, Royce da 5’9″ and Big KRIT. It’s relaxed but poignant and has a feel good rap vibe to it while still showcasing Jones’ lyrical ability.

All in all, it’s a solid track that makes me want to check out the rest of his work. Taking a look at his IG feed, he seems to also be a fellow nerd so he gets bonus points in that regard as well. That side of him isn’t really on display with “Already,” but it’s still a great introduction and makes me want to hear more of him. Don’t be surprised if you see him on SOTB again in the future.
