I’m a sucker for a funky bassline. Olivia Swann’s “You Want It (But I Don’t)” has an incredible one. That’s not all it has, though. Swann’s vocals are smooth and sexy, while also boisterous. The songwriting here is also top-notch, in the sense that things are playful and deathly serious all at once.
The track itself is about not backsliding back to a skeevy ex who keeps trying to get back with you. It’s a message I can vibe with–even though none of my exes are skeevy at all. You can’t make things right by continuously going back to the people who hurt you. Check out “You Want It” below and remember to support dope music in all its forms.
