Love is Complicated for Nephie, Yona Marie and HurricaneCeaser

On “Complicated,” the DMV’s Nephie and Yona Marie link with South African artist HurricaneCeasar. The song is a clean rap about dealing with a relationship that isn’t cut and dry easy.

I like the production, as I’m a sucker for piano-heavy beats more often than not. Lyrically, the raps are emotional enough and hammer home the points that, while things are a bit difficult, they’re seen as worth it and worth fighting for. The visuals feature two couples arguing about an unheard topic, ultimately left with the decision to leave everything behind or continue to work on things. It’s a track with a heartfelt message.
