Let’s Discuss: MsWillz’ “Single”

MsWillz knows her way around a bop, as evident on the track “Single.” It’s soulful and just poppy enough to grab your attention. She manages to tackle discussing a toxic relationship (one that had her feeling as if she didn’t matter) in a way that’s both engaging and makes you want to find her, give her a hug and say “eff that dude.” I think the most-apt comparison would be Cardi B’s “Be Careful.” Both songs have that pop energy, but are street tales about not giving your all to a crappy guy. There’s a sense of empowerment within the heartbreaking, as she finds the power to keep it pushing after dude went and messed around.
