Fejiro Onakpoma Discusses His Situationship(s) on Latest Song

While I’m not a big fan of calling significant others “bitches,” even if they’re just sex buddies in reality, I’m a huge fan of this track from Fejiro Onakpoma. It’s got a mix of early Chris Brown, “U Got It Bad” Usher and even a bit of August Alsina in there for good measure. The brother can sing quite well, so you add that in with a few entanglements and you’ve got a soulful look at a man trying to figure out who’s the right one for him–even while somewhat stringing everyone else along.

It’s perfect dirtball R&B in some ways, right up there with “tell Steve Harvey Ion’ want her” Future off 42Dugg’s “Maybach.” However, it’s sang in a way that you also feel sorry for Onakpoma because he truthfully didn’t want to be in this sort of situation(ship). He’d rather just be at peace. That said, he’s in the middle of a love triangle (square?) of his own creation because he doesn’t know who or what to choose. I liked it and liked that the video didn’t glorify the situation at all. Instead, the video closes as two women are arguing over Fejiro’s heart and he’s just singing, head firmly in hands.
