Over a Statik Selektah beat, Canadian artist Mic North proceeds to outline what he’s done to make it. He speaks on his journey to becoming a rapper, from hustling and not being on the most-up-and-up sorts of dealings to rapping over legends’ beats. I think this one is the epitome of the phrase “glow-up.” Lyrically, Mic North’s on point with a flow that reminds me a bit of old-school 50 Cent mixed with a bit of Jay Z. This one is aimed to continue to keep that “real rap” feel and feeling alive in the genre and I feel that it hits its marks.
