Jordan Mac said that this one had a huge Cudi-esque feel to it. From the dreamy instrumental to the pondering about mental health and traumas, I’d say that’s an apt comparison. I like this song because of its bluntness. Mac speaks about the loss of his father and how that rocked him, in addition to other situations that may have affected him negatively. It’s his hope that people can learn from his music and experiences and let go of their own pain and hurt–even as he’s learning to do more of that himself. I think that this is a solid introduction from Mac to SOTBMusic and I’d like to hear more of what he’s got to put down. For now, check out “Holding On” above and remember to support dope music in all its forms.
