On the Pink Sweat$-cowritten “50/50” R&B singer Abigail Bleu hits all the marks she set out to. She’s in love and she’s ready to show her partner just how much she loves them, down to going half on a baby. The song is sexy and smooth, as Bleu sings silkily over acoustic guitars. It sounds like if Ariana Grande and SZA had a baby who was raised by Summer Walker. That’s to say, there’s a lot of vulnerability in the lyrics–but also a lot of swagger as well. She’s clearly not in over her head, even if she’s head over heels. That’s a delicate balance to have, as it’s one that keeps you from making silly decisions while being in love (trust me on this). I love Bleu’s vocals on this as they’re grown and sexy while still being a bit playful. All in all, folks? This is a great song, one that should make you want to check out more from Abigail Bleu.
