This song takes the philosophy of “nobody’s perfect but you’re perfect for me” and runs with it. It’s a beautiful track, one that seems to celebrate imperfections and love all at once. I like the laidback vibes the song presents and the message. I also enjoy the mix between singing and rapping the artist uses, as it feels organic but also bop-friendly.
The song seems to have a bit of storytelling within it as well, considering some of the things that Muyinza has gone through as a child and an adult. From losing his mom to gaining steam as an artist, his story is an interesting one that helps color the song. There’s also a great deal of honesty within the song that helps bring the story full-circle. Muyinza is slated to feature this song on an album of the same name and will release a new song every week until July, when the Beautiful Mess album is slated to drop. Until then, check this one out and do the thing: support dope music in all its forms.
