Lamontae Foyay Delves into His “Feelings” on Latest Song

Procrastination is like masturbation because you’re eventually just screwing yourself, as the modern proverb goes. South Carolina artist Lamontae Foyay understands this and puts it in less-crass terms. However, he does so with terms that are still very relatable.

Over a bouncy instrumental, Foyay and featured artist Love Resa float and let listeners know that they’ll miss every shot they don’t take. Sometimes, it’s better to try and fail than to just stay in your bubble and never progress. Sonically, the song sounds a bit like Cole and a bit like some neo-soul, in that you could slide it in a winedown playlist and it wouldn’t feel out of place. I love the production, but I love the message and delivery much more. I’m curious to see where 2022 takes Foyay, as this was the first time I came in contact with his music. If the rest of his year is anything like “Feelings,” you know that you’ll see/hear him on SOTB.
