Over another Gusto Mane production, 888moment unleashes a few minutes of lyrical excellence. The fifth song off 888’s Beautiful Delusions, “Centralizing” finds the Baltimore-based artist trying to figure out his place in the world. Ultimately, he finds that, while he’s unique, he’s got a place here just like anyone and everyone else. It’s just a bit harder, given the way our society works these days.
Because of this, moment also discusses the “digital roses don’t die”-esque views some of our society go into. How we got to a point where it’s okay to replace genuine human interaction for social media likes is beyond me. However, there are thankfully people fighting against that thought process. Unlike KRIT’s latest release, though, moment mainly raps on the track and does so in a way that’s a bit matter-of-fact, but also direct and to the point. If you’re ready for some introspection with your brooding instrumentation, check this one out and remember to support dope music in all its forms.
