Pip Millett Talks About Conflict on “Downright”

Above, we’ve got the latest from UK singer/songwriter Pip Millett, the breezy-but-profound “Downright.” I love the airy, somewhat optimistic production and how it contrasts to the depth of the lyrics. We get a darker song that speaks on the positives and negatives of love, life and conflict. Specifically, we get to see how this conflict impacts both parties involved in the relationship. It’s not exactly a neat look at love, instead saying “it’s okay to not have the answers all the time.” However, it also sounds so smooth and pops out of your speakers in a way that allows for there to be that optimism, that “things are going to be okay” sort of energy. If you need some soul with more than just love attached, check this one out and support dope music in all its forms.
