Decked out in a Ja Morant Murray State jersey, Chicago native D’So Nyce presents a smoothed-out track for the underdogs and the kids who used to be outside–and not just on computer screens. Featuring a beat that calls to mind Sade and a flow that brings to mind Curren$y and Pusha-T, this one is a definite must-listen. I like the laidback nature of the flow and the visuals. We’re implored to take in his lyrics en masse and absorb them, not just regurgitate them over the beat. I appreciate that in my music, even though I like singing along like everybody else. I also like the storytelling Nyce presents here, as he gives us a look in on his upbringing as well as his current day-to-day.
