Flau’jae may ring some bells as one of the numerous young rappers who graced our TV screens in the mid-to-late-2010s. Following in the footsteps of other Rap Game alumni as Latto, Nia Kay and Deetranada, the hooper/rapper (she plays on LSU’s women’s team) has a new song. And yes, SOTB Faithful, it’s a banger.
“I Can’t Break” is a powerful anthem about the artist being, well, unbreakable. It’s a topic that can seem cliched, but Flau’jae adds a new twist to things. From the video to the song, we get, as the PR accurately suggests, a post-Drake sort of sound with emotions that are raw, real and relatable. I love this one because of its honesty and its realness. Like some of her contemporaries, Flau’jae is going up (especially on this Tuesday). This one appears on her It’s a Situation EP, which is a solid collection of different hip-hop sounds.
