This is a song that speaks on Fresh’s upbringing in the DMV while also being a positive look into the life of a Black man. Plus, it’s very very lyrical and reminiscent of early-1990s conscious rap with a 2020s twist. This one is slated to appear on Fresh’s Richmond Highway album that’s dropping in early January. If the album’s biographic look at Fresh is anything like “Beauty Marks,” I think we’re in for one helluva album. I also enjoy the visuals, which feature Davy’s toddler son (I’m a sucker for parents being dope-ass parents, because the kids are the future). Check out “Beauty Marks” below and support dope music in all its forms.
