Poet-turned-rapper OG Spliff’s two-pack features a lot of self-reflection and self-healing. “son of toga” is the “let’s look at the man in the mirror” reflective track, while “building” quite literally builds the man back up in a lot of ways. In other words, it’s the perfect duo of tracks because he shows who he is, who he was, and who he wants to be. Plus, the beats? They are exquisite. Spliff’s flow reminds me a bit of A$AP Ferg on these two tracks, which also speak on the Black experience. All in all? Check it out and support dope music in all its forms. I’m curious to see where he goes after this one; he’s a talented artist and one who knows how to make a helluva song.
