Happy Valentine’s Day, y’all. I’m in the mood for love. Unfortunately, both my shawty and I have work, so we’ll be rendezvousing some time next week. That’s just how life goes sometimes, but we still exchanged stuffs and whatnots. However, this ain’t about my “love life.” Let’s talk music.
Pink Siifu and producer Ahwlee, over a “syrupy slow jam” sort of beat from Ahwlee, make up the duo of B. Cool-Aid. Over the course of the song, the duo create a soundscape of love, life, a bit of lust and a bit of “I can be the man you need me to be.” Featuring Devin Morrison, Pher Turner and MoRuf, “Wassup” is definitely an interesting track for your love taking, love making or sulking because you don’t have the love of your peers. Please don’t do that last one, though. Love is great and, like God’s Grace, it comes when you need it the most. It may not be always when you want it, but it’s definitely there when you need it.
It’s also, like the rest of the album shapes up to be, a journey through “the various businesses that make up the world” of Leather Blvd. It does so while also showcasing some of its denizens. I’m excited for the project, especially with tracks like this. Leather Blvd. drops on March 31. So, for now, check out “Wassup” below and support dope music in all its forms.
