We’ve all been here before. You’re out in the club, or a bar or a strip joint and you’re drunk and know things won’t end well. However, you call an Uber to the person you love’s place and want to word vomit all your feelings in a drunken love-bomb sort of thing. I was there a lot over the last year with The Shawty. After sobering up, chilling the heck out on the copious amounts of drinking, and realizing “hey, there’s a lot of love here. Let me dial it back before ish goes super left,” I’ve been able to re-sort my thoughts. This ain’t about me, though. Self-described “sad gay tenor for hire” Sean Doherty pours emotions into that drunken love bomb and makes it known that Doherty isn’t going to let it go (but not in a stalker way, more of an “I love you and would like to tell you how much so, even if things go a bit left”). The vocals are great and the instrumentation kind of reminds me of a mix between acoustic neo-soul and emotional alt-pop. Check out the song below and support dope music in all its forms.
