On the Leather Blvd cut “Brandy Aaliyah,” B. Cool-Aid and their various collaborators speak on trying to learn from past experiences while also just being nostalgic while also conceptualizing what it’d be like to meet someone out of your (and I’m speaking to the Millennials here) elementary or middle school celebrity crush (it may’ve actually been Aaliyah or Brandy). I love the mix of styles we get on this song, as it really feels like a ’90s rap posse cut–which makes it bounce even more. This is one of these songs–like all of the B. Cool-Aid songs I’ve featured thus far–that you don’t need me to tell you it’s awesome. But, since your hear, I recommend the parent album as well. Check it all out below and support dope music in all its forms.
