I like this song because it blends NYC hip-hop sensibilities with those of the London jazz scene. While it does that, the song still stays its own thing. That’s especially because “Love Will Take Me Higher” has this great sample and beautiful piano melodies played by UK pianist Charlie Stacey. Sonically, it’s very unique but still familiar.

Lyric-wise, it’s a love song/declaration of love to a special someone. I love the bars here, as it’s an “I’ve got you until the world ends” sort of track. If you follow me on IG or know me personally, y’all know I say that a lot with regards to The Shawty. Because of that, this one hits a bit closer to home than some love songs.
