This is, in a word, eccentric. I mean that in the best way possible. It’s lyrical, though slightly off-kilter with its flows. It’s in the vein of JPEGMAFIA and MF DOOM with its eccentricities. That said, the song also stays firmly within the wheelhouse of more traditional rap as well. What we end up getting is a two-for-one smorgasbord of bars, thoughts and beats that’ll have you catching the vibe right along with the rapper. That’s another thing about this two-piece: the beat(s), which were self-produced, are pretty experimental and stretch what it means to be a rhymesayer over them while still having hip-hop roots.
