Chuck Strangers, Fly Anakin and Pink Siifu Say “Hurry”

Chuck Strangers is an infamous (in a good way) Brooklyn-based rhymesayer (and producer). The artist, who has production credits throughout a lot of 2010s indie hip-hop recently dropped a new project, The Boys & Girls EP. One of the songs from that EP is “Hurry,” which features Fly Anakin and Pink Siifu. The track finds the trio of artists blending melodic raps (think more Kanye and company on “Spaceship” and less Lil Baby on “Drip Too Hard”), boombap-friendly production and effortless flows over that sampled production.

I’m a sucker for a well-done soul sample, as many of you know.

Now take all of that, mix it in with bars that will make you think about your life, a potential special someone and everything in between? Yeah, this is a track that screams “check out my parent project if you haven’t already.” I hadn’t really heard a whole bunch from Chuck in a while before this. The brother, who also helped craft Joey Bada$$’s early sound, is nice with the bars and the beats. Yes, given who’s also on the track, that’s darn well a given. However, I definitely will be on the lookout for more music from the well-traveled artist. He’s got me intrigued, even more so than before. Check out “Hurry” below and do the thing this Mother’s Day: support dope music in all its forms.
