If you live to pursue happiness, you’ll never truly be happy. In fact, you’ll be pretty dang miserable. Inner peace and happiness…well, it’s in the name. Inner peace, meaning you can only find peace and true happiness within yourself. No one or nothing else can make you be happy. You can be happy around them, but you’re still the one who holds the key. You get to choose whether or not you spend life “recognizing the joy within,” as Roni Bar Hadas suggests, or be miserable. That’s the overall message of Hadas’s “Luck.”
The title track of an album of the same name, “Luck” finds the Tel Aviv-based artist contemplating about that fabled “pursuit of happiness” and if it’s really an external thing one can achieve. Long story short: happiness is something you find within. The rest of the project this one appears on is quite interesting. It blends a lot of different sounds together to paint a portrait of the world Hadas finds herself in and of Hadas herself. It’s introspective, it’s genre-bending, it’s something you should check out above and remember to support dope music in all its forms.
